
Dr. Byron T. Brazier
Dr. Byron T. Brazier is an ordained minister and Pastor of the Apostolic Church of God. Prior to becoming pastor in June 2008, he served as Assistant Pastor, the church's general administrator, and a member of the church's official board. He is now chairman of the official board.
Prior to joining the staff of the Apostolic Church of God, Dr. Brazier held the following positions: President of Brazier & Associates, Chief Information Officer for the Chicago Housing Authority, and a Business Unit Executive for IBM Corporation.
Dr. Brazier also holds multiple positions within the community:
- Vice Chairman of the African-American Leadership Partnership which is a ministerial academic organization.
- Board Member of McCormick Theological Seminary.
- Board Member of the Merit Board of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.
- Board Member of the Olive Branch Mission.
- Board Member of the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation.
Dr. Brazier also facilitates a committee on behalf of President Todd Stroger, President of the Cook County Board concerning Disproportionate Minority Confinement, and leads a task force for Governor Rod Blagojevich on re-entry.
Dr. Brazier received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Roosevelt University. He also received a Master of Arts Degree in Theological Studies and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary.
Dr. Brazier has been married to his wife, Mary, for 32 years and has two children, April and Byron II.
