Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing
praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

The Angelic Choir

This  women's choir offers praise and worship through song for many services at the Apostolic Church of God. We offer an open invitation to all women of ACOG who have a desire to learn the art and technique of singing; the joy of learning and singing hymns, gospel, spirituals, and classical repertoire; and the fulfillment of ministry in the Apostolic Church of God. Rehearsals take place every Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Director: Sister Andrea Morris

The Brotherhood Chorale

The Brotherhood Chorale is an integral part of the music ministry of the Apostolic Church of God, Chicago, Illinois. The Chorale’s mission is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through song to all people and to support the ministry of the pastor, Dr. Byron T. Brazier, and the mission of the Apostolic Church of God. The Brotherhood Chorale was organized in 1969 with approximately 30 members. The history of the Chorale chronicles several great directors who initiated and created a solid musical foundation and music ministry for male voices. Brian Rice assumed the position of principal conductor in 1999 and has continued, expanded and established an unparalleled tradition of excellence.  Under his tenure, the Chorale has increased from approximately 60 to 150 members.

The Brotherhood Chorale provides the worship music at the Apostolic Church of God for Sunday morning services on alternate fifth Sundays, the annual Bible Conference and other selected services. Rehearsals are held every Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Director: Brother Brian Rice

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir has been an anchor for the music ministry of the Apostolic Church of God throughout the seventy-plus year history of the church. The music focus of the choir is centered on quality presentations of sacred music including anthems, gospel, hymns, and inspirational songs.

For the over three hundred members of the choir, our many appearances are not merely performances but opportunities for ministry. Under the leadership of the late Bishop Arthur M. Brazier, the choir established itself as a powerful presence in the revitalized South Shore/Woodlawn community and throughout the music ministry of the church and continues to do so under the leadership of our current pastor, Dr. Byron T. Brazier.

The Sanctuary Choir appears regularly on the church’s weekly television ministry and its annual Christmas and Easter concerts. Other notable performances include appearances at the Chicago Sinfonietta’s Martin Luther King celebrations at Symphony Center, Chicago’s Gospel Festival, Millennium Park Opening Festivities with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, for inauguration ceremonies, and with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in Prague, Czech Republic. The Sanctuary Choir has also appeared in concert with renowned artists Yolanda Adams, Kurt Carr, Maurette Brown Clark, Kirk Franklin, Gladys Knight, Dwayne Lee, Wynton Marsalis, Donnie McClurkin, Elizabeth Norman, Kirk Whalum, CeCe Winans, and the artists formerly known as Three Mo’ Tenors.

Mime Ministry

The mime ministry provides a space where young people learn how to minister the words of Christian music and God's Word through movement and expression. Each Thursday evening prep session includes times of Bible study and worship. The ministry consists of youth youth ages 4 through high school. They minister in children's church on Sunday mornings, during 5th Sunday youth-led worship services, and at other designated services. The group also ministers outside the four walls of the church.
